People doing over-consume soft drink might be more likely to get obese disease and metabolic syndrome. It happens since this product contains high-level sugar. For example, a can of Pepsi contains 41 gr sugar. If we convert this sugar level to teaspoons, it is equivalent to around 8.2 teaspoons. The high sugar levels in a soft drink make our blood glucose increase remarkably. Consequently, it induces your body to feel starved and exhausted. The correlation between soft drink consumption and obesity has been researched by Sanjay Basu and his friends. He said it increases globally, starting from 9.5 gallons per person per year in 1997 to 11.4 gallons in 2010. His group also said A 1% rise in soft drink consumption was associated with 2.3 obese adults per 100 (1). Another scientist, Vasanti S. Malik and his team, said drinking two or more cans of soft drink might potentially raise the risk of diabetes type-2 by 25% (2).

Other detrimental effects occurred on people doing over-consume the soft drink causes kidney trouble. It is based on a study taken from data from 465 patients who have chronic kidney trouble and 467 healthy people. This study states drinking two or more servings of cola per day increases chronic kidney trouble by 2 times. It happens because of a soft drink's content. A soft drink contains phosphoric acid which experts associate with urinary changes and kidney stones (3).

Do over-consume colas also will induce cancer disease.  The reason why colas will induce cancer disease is the substances of beverage coloring and its packaging. The beverage coloring that is used in a soft drink is 4-methylimidazole. Based on research by Tyler J.S Smith claimed this ingredient is a carcinogen. Furthermore, in a laboratory setting, this ingredient is going to cause lung, liver, or thyroid cancer in mice (4). Besides, Dorota Kregiel stated the packaging products use a material called bisphenol A (BPA). It is also a carcinogen material that disrupts hormone regulation and gains blood pressure (5).

Thus, there are many consequences when we do consume a soft drink mostly. Like obesity disease, kidney trouble, and cancer, this is the worst detrimental effect. The choice is in our hands. Do you want healthy lives or not? It depends on you.
